When will the 2009 grant period open?

No official notice, but it will not open until FP&S closes. Most likely date being tossed about is March 16th.

You're not blind. Has not been posted yet. Probably will not be posted much before the opening of the grant period.

If the last couple of years hold to form, the Program Guidance will not appear until a day or two before the application period opens.

But the good thing is that little has changed. There is no reason not to begin work now using last year's guidance until the new document appears.

It's not, underground word is possibly the 30th. Couple of possible reasons but speculating here won't do much to help it so it is what it is. In addition to giving everyone more time to work apps.

Well I fully expected to see the guidelines and opening date to show up on the 13th. Wrong. However if BC79er's underground says the 30th, that just gives me more time to work with and I'll take it.

FEMA Regional reps were saying the 16 as well, but she also said it was not set in stone. Also they may be moving the peer review out of emmitsburg, got an email about it Thursday, not enough room. Expected to be doing reviews by the second week of May.

A very reliable little birdie informed me that the opening for AFG has been delayed and will not open on Monday (no date when). The PG still has not been approved.

I went to an AFG workshop this weekend and the FEMA rep said two important things:

1. In essence, it is not going to start Monday
2. No one really knows what is happening with the stimulus bill/money.
