    Post Answer to your question.

No there was not a class made from the 2008 test. The last class to go through the academy was from the 2007 test. Also, rumur is 20 spots coming open. There is no study guide to the KFD test, but, it is a basic knowledge test. Reading, math, following directions, reading graphs. Nothing really brain-busting, but, if you wanted to bone up to be safe, books-a-million has good civil service and firefighter exam prep books. Good luck guys.

good luck to you too...i'm 62nd on the 2008 list but they are combining the 2008 and 2009 list...they interview i believe 5 people for every spot available. So i'm going back to take the test again because I didn't do as well as i liked on last years test...20 is the same number I heard as well.

    Post just alittle insight.

I already work for KFD. They do interview 5 people for each position they have open. Thus they should have 100 people to interview, so try your best to be one of them. Also one bit of info to you guys. If your practicing for the PT test, something they told us when we arrived for the test was that if you do better in one event than another it will weigh itself out in the long run. Thus if you do 80 sit-ups in that minute and the min. is only 30 and you screwed the pooch in the stabilometer then the you could possibly make the points up by doing so well in the sit-ups. I hope that makes sense. Any other help I can give Ill try to do my best.

Is there any way to actually train for that stabilometer thing? Or is it just a "if you can't do it you are out of luck" thing?

Also, is the PT test and Written on the same day or do you have to come back for the PT test later? I've read the application I just didn't find that info.

The best I can tell you is to go to a gym and ask a trainer for exercises you can do to improve balance. I really dont know if there is anywhere to practice that darn thing at. Also, the written and PT are on two seperate days. You'll take the written and if you pass you will get another postcard in the mail telling you the date and time of the PT. It shouldn't take very long to get you results back, give them about two weeks. Hope that helps.
