Has anyone ever been reimbursed for brush fires or wildland fires? I'm located in NE Ohio and heard from other FD that the Dept. of Forestry will reimburse the FD for responding? Anyone else heard of that?

Yes sir, they do. Talk to your local Fed. Wildland Agency about a Cooperative Fire protection agreement. For my FD it applys to Federal Lands within the Dakota Praire Grasslands, Our District is about 790 square miles.
If you have a good working relationship with them and have the ability to take care of light paper work. It can be very rewarding, to the tune of
$745 for your typical Type 6 EngineCourage, Being Scared to Death and Saddling Up anyways.
