Default Too Good To Be True?

Now if only other pizza deliveries would do the same!

    Beer, Straight to Your Door

Imagine opening your front door to both pizza and beer!

The tried-and-true beer and pizza combo just got even more awesome -- now, both can come straight to your door.

A Pizza Hut in Amarillo, Texas, will now deliver beer to customers who order a fresh pie in a test-run of a new policy that would let the chain bring beer directly to customers' homes, KFDA TV reported.

The new beer-delivery service was created to raise the restaurant's profits, execs at the Pizza Hut on the corner of Hillside and Coulter streets said.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and local authorities will closely monitor the service, making sure that customers who request the beer are all of age and don't over-order the booze.

Delivery workers who handle the beer must be over 18 years of age, the TABC said. The service will also operate under time constraints that have yet to be decided.

How wonderful that until I moved to Borden, I usually order my takeout pizza from Pizza Hut.

My College had this with a local pizza place. It sadly ended right before I started. It was supposidly very popular, and one of the main reasons why they stayed in business. Don't know how they are doing now.

When I was working convenience stores, there were always pizza drivers coming in to buy beer and other items for customers.
Given that the national chain is one I cannot name but it follows the domino theory has a no alcohol policy,I figured that it was either for a friend or a regular customer that the driver agreed to get beer for.
Then again, that particular store might not give a rat's backside about corporate policy.

Would certainly cut down on the number of folks getting half tanked and then going out for more beer.

How are they going to monitor this? If someone of legal age orders the beer, but someone under the legal age drinks and later drives, who is responsible if there is an accident?

We just had a situation where a party bus had underage teens in it, but a 24 year old allegedly bought the alcohol. Short version: one of them fell out of the emergency window. Party bus driver is now being charged.
