"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

I no longer do ARFF, but I was stationed at Andrews AFB, MD. I've also been to Duluth, MN more times than I can count and almost joined the NG there as a firefighter when I got out of active duty.

Wow. Those were some great planes.
Had one land in Eau Claire when I was working. He was heading to the EAA show in Oshkosh, WI and stopped for gas. He was coming from someplace in Washington. He let me walk in and look around, kick the tires and stuff. What a great plane and it sounds awesome on take off!!Jason Knecht

Louisville International
Requested the forum due to the FAA Reauthorization Bill in the House right now. The possibility of it becoming law and requiring a structural response at airports makes the availability of people in the structural world not available on arff.info a good thing.Josh Ball

I was just there a couple weeks ago for the Thunder over Louisville. First time being in that town and it great!!! Awesome airshow and wonderful fireworks!
We got VIP tickets at Joe's Crabshack and that was center stage! Much better than the Chow Wagon area or the free space around which just looked like a big urinal...lol
Great town too. Love the blues bar we went to....can't remember the name but it just opened under new owners. On the street that is going to be renovated to compete with 4th Street Live which is a corporate owned deal. This area is going to be a local Mom and Pop area for the tourists like me!
Oh, and you guys can sure pour the bourbon....UFF DA!!Jason Knecht
