We are applying for a new pumper this year to replace a 23 year old Pierce. City of 45,000 w/ 5 front line pumps, two reserve pumps, 5 stations, 9,000 calls total. This arc has over 145,000 miles. Financial Need and Cost Benefit are strong, but I'm just curious to see what DHS has been accepting for costs of a new foam pumper on average. We are in the ballpark of $340,000. Can anyone give me some insight to whether this is "reasonable" to DHS? We split off $10,000 of it for additional funding to equip the truck to comply w/ 1901. Thanks for any help!
