    Post GIMAEX Firefighting Equipment

Anyone seen or heard of the GIMAEX company fire apparatus, is it a part of the ( Rosenbauer group ) ? There Aerials look the same.

I know they are NOT part of the Rosenbauer group. I also did not notice them at FDIC this year. I believe they are actually a French company.

Latest rumor I had heard is that Gimaex were shuttering US operations but I've not been able to confirm that. So I'll leave it at that....a rumor.

They were at Harrisburg with a showpiece last year. I'll try to make it a point to see if they reappear.

A French Metz lookalike. The one at last years Harrisburg show had a plasticsol body. I'd love to fly one to compare notes. Personally I'm not a big French fan(from working on Pusho's and Renaults)but that's a me thing. T.C.

Just like most aerials over here look alike, so do the european aerials whether it be a Gimaex, Metz, or Magirus. The one at FDIC last year is still not sold and I too have heard they are pulling out of the North American market.

As already mentioned, one ladder was built with a Plastisol Body... (It showed at the OAFC convention 2008). I've heard rumours that sales aren't going as planned and they might just back out of North America all together.

I'm sure Garland would like to see what he missed. T.C.

Silly Boys!!! Whose talking about buying French stuff. What I'm ragging on is Islands crazy comment about American Manufacturers. It is a Global Economy and still guys try and talk people into a corner, wake up. There is some neat stuff out there, most of it being held up by tradition. Think I'll go have some Freedom Fries!

T.C., what you gotta peep hole in the buckahouse! Hello Kyle, see you next trip. If you run short of ground ladders pull one off of of one of those vehicles that usually show up with one or two guys and about a hundred feet of ladders.
