I just wonder what ops never were made public.

Most of 'em from what little I know.I just know one day I was on pier sentry in Charleston and an ambulance came to the gate trying to get on the pier.My ship was guard ship that day and no one told me about an ambulance on the way for any of the other ships so I got the driver out to open the back doors. He said"Okay, man, you got me.We're SEALs and part of a security exercise.Give this(hands me a card) to your OOD to pass up to the CO" and they left to try the other piers.
I never got an "Atta boy" from it but I was told my name came up at the debriefing later as one of the few guys doing their job.At first,it was thought that I was in trouble again which may account for no special mention.
One of my shipmates later refused to let a 3 star Admiral onto the pier without showing his Navy i.d. card. The guy in the back of the car was cussing him out about how "No blankety blanking pipsqueak E-NOTHING! is going to keep ME off MY pier!" but eventually,he broke out his billfold, showed his card and later mentioned it to our CO.

    Default Red Cell

    Doug,
The comments I saw in the Palidin Press cat. were that those were released when some big shots tried to crap on him and some of the team.

How true they are is ....

    Alan

Hopefully your shipmate didn't smirk to much after the Admiral left.

No,but when Commander C called him out at Quarters the next day,he sure had a big smile on his face all day.
Praise for doing your job makes a lot of things seem much better.

I figured that US customs would detain American ambulances from returning, fearing influence of a proper health care system on the medical personnel.
