Grant Writers Fee

Since within the actual application there is a plank that asks if a grant writers fee is involved and the amount. My question is, must this fee be mentioned within the narrative? Or can the fee be included within the narrative as part of an additional expense? Say administration costs?

The fee has to get reported in the spot for Request Details then it is automatically added to the project budget as if the department wants reimbursement for it. That's the only time that a preparer name has to be in that first page. If they don't want the fee reimbursed (same % match as project) then they don't need to put preparer info or that a fee was paid since it is automated.

So it wouldn't have to be included in the narrative then? My brain is like a sieve from all the line items in the equipment requests. Thanks Brian

No, it's a calculation for DHS only if you're up for the award since that reimbursement comes out of the total pot of funding. Haven't found any Peer Reviewers that seem to care too much about it, if they want to know they can flip back and see it.
