Ok, heres the deal. After a lapse in a local ff physical, the FD doctor gave approval for the ff to return to duty as a class c ff. Heres the catch, He was denied by the fd comissioners to return to the pump operator and drivers list because he is listed as a class "c" ff. The department has no policy stating that a pump operator must be class b or higher. It only states that a pump operator must have "EVOC" & a "NYS Pump Ops Certificate" all of which the ff posesses. He has also been a ff and a pump operator for 40+ years. The only reason they gave was that it was a "safety issue", and stated if the wind changes direction towards the truck he must be able to wear scba (which he can). Now for the question. Any thoughts or comments about this? I would like to hear all sides of this.
