Looks like all you want to do is post, post and post and get your posting number up!
Why don't you PM these folks. I don't think FH likes all these uneccessery BS posts. This isn't a chat room you know.
Maybe the dept will notify you if you are going to the next step. Why go to work for a small dept with low pay anyway?

thanks for the complete worthless smart ***** comment, im here like everyone else trying to become a paid firefighter and i ask a simple question so others could answer for me. not by some sore loser who thinks he knows everything and remember next time u wanna but enquire your 2 cents of "important usefull knoledgable info" ..... dont. thank you mr. perfect firefighter

I am not perfect as you aren't. I was merely making a suggestion as not to keep on and on and very few are answering you.
I have old turnouts hanging in the garage, which probably are older than you.
My education includes the following:
Bachelors in Public Administration, Bachelors in Emergency Management, Associates in Fire Science, Certified Chief Officer, Certified Emergency Manager, etc, etc, etc.
By the way, why don't you apply for a job in a large metro department up here on the east coast and not in a small burg? More money to begin, better benefits, better working conditions, more fire activity and a great retirement package.Last edited by Jonnee; 05-21-2009 at 03:05 PM.

jonee...what department are you on? because Knoxville is still a decent size city. It doesn't have to be FDNY or boston or Chicago or LA to be a good Fire department. What is your opinion/view on Charlotte?

I am looking at a corporate job in Knoxville from out of the State of Tennessee. I work part time for a fire department currently, and would love to stay involved if I move to Knoxville. Can anyone refer a few volunteer or part-time departments in the Knoxville area (preferably west side since I will be working in Oak Ridge)? If you can help out, just PM me so I don't hijack this thread. Thank you.
