All I wish for is $137,000.00 of the $40,000,000.00. Another week gone by and no news on our 08 OP’S grant.
I hav a feeling some of the "whopper" projects are still to come; a lo tof them have extensive technical review checking before release.;)
Called the help desk today and inquired about our 2008 OP’s grant. Basically I was told that we would here something within two weeks. I had asked if I should apply for the same equipment as the 2008 application and she said to go ahead and apply for something new. Don’t want to read too much into this. Anybody have an idea what is going on with the 08 applications that have not been awarded or denied?
Probably told you that thinking that for you to be in limbo this long that you're either up for remainder money or they already know you'll be in for excess funds.
2 months and no new awards. Are they having that much trouble giving away the funds? I know they are still trying with the SAFER funds from 2008. 3 local departments have been offered $$ for positions. 2 accepted and 1 declined. I hope the can find enough for my 9 positions still.
Word was SAFER 2008 money had to be allocated by June 30th so they should be done them now. That's why they turned to R&R mid-month instead of continuing to contact hiring apps. No match, no problem accepting in a short period of time if not instantaneously.
