    Default firefighting summer safety

    hi to all
    i need your help to give some safety while fighting the fire in summer

    I see the original poster's last activity was the same day as their post. I hope I didn't scare them away.

    ssooss, my point was to get you to share more details on what your concerns are. Do you mean wildland firefighting or structural? Physically or operationally. That type of thing.

    Some of the guys post the bare mininum at that. I often wonder how hey got this far!

    Wouldn't it be the same as the winter? O.o All seasons come with their inherent special safety risks. But I'd think that the big kicker would be heat exhaustion/cramps/stress. During my summer training, after coming out of a live burn and taking off my bunker jacket, my t-shirt was steaming. Literally. I was fascinated and horrified at the same time. I do know that the British Navy did extensive testing on this issue and came up with some surprising results. now, if I can only remember where I put the link the heat test results...ggrrrr.
