'Hoser' brought up this point earlier in the 'Reno Gang' thread and BC79'r enlightened us. When it asks for your inventory I put down the year the vehicle was made/manufactured. Now in the 'vehicle request detail section', where they ask a row of questions about the vehicle (if your replacing one), there is a section where they ask how long you have 'owned' the vehicle being replaced. That one is supposed to be answered in months. Seems some departments are acquiring older apparatus to lower their fleets average age. Read every written question carefully and it should be evident what to answer and how.

I'm at the page
Request Details
I don't see a spot to imput when aquired (years or months).
I see:
4. What is the newest (age) vehicle you currently own in the class you are purchasing?
5. How old is the oldest (age) vehicle you own in the class you are purchasing?
Picked the year bracket (I assume from year built).

Vehicle Inventory page is what they are talking about.
Put the age of the vehicle. "20 Years" not "1989."

It's down the bottom of the vehicle request page, asks how many runs the truck made and how many months the applicant has owned the truck. They're catching the people replacing reserve trucks and old ones they bought just to increase average fleet age.

Aren't we talking about two separate data fields here?
Vehicle Inventory is where you put your age of vehicle in years. (i.e. 20)
Project details is where you list how long you have owned in months. (i.e. 240)

So Brian on inventory page - months since 1984 when built vs purchased spring of 2002 ?
I don't have any "many runs the truck made and how many months the applicant has owned the truck" that I can find on my vehicle app.
Perhaps a test or shows up depending on what the app is?

neiowa:
In your Request Details Section, you select Vehicle Acquisition. You will have 3 separate subscreens to enter in the Action area.
"View Details" This is your vehicle detail info. Questions 12 and 13:
12. How long have you owned the vehicle you are replacing? Months (whole number only)
13. If you are removing a vehicle from service, what is the number of calls that vehicle responded to during 2008 (documented through vehicle or dispatch logs)? (whole number only)
"Vehicle Inventory" You will list your vehicle age (i.e. 25)
"View Additional Funding"
