Default 2009 Waiting bar is open

and the first round is on the Gurus. (you know who you are) Since I am not in the hunt this year beacause of budget issues I can be the interested but neutral observer here. (if they decide they want me to submit a grant now I will punch them dead in the face) I was going to wait a couple more days to start this thread but since some of the folks are already dreaming about 1199's I figure I would go ahead and start.

WJ if I had known you were gonna have the spare time on your hands, I would have you come up and put you to work. I actually had several departments come to me early and got their grants out of the way. But I did have one call last night and want me to start a grant.. I was still laughing when he hung up.

    Submitted mine this afternoon....

"I have a dream. It's not a big dream, it's just a little dream. My dream and I hope you don't find this too crazy is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."

I actually had someone call me at home last night, and ask me if I knew anything about "this AFG thing"???? We were actually going to try to get something simple (and needed) together on short notice, but they didn't have a DUNS number...

I feel your pain. Demotions and no grants due to budget issues. I will drink and watch the fun with you!

Somebody go next door and throw Brain a couple of ice packs for his hands and wrist. He probably needs to be propped back up in his chair where he fell asleep again...

Just give the poor guy a blanket and let him sleep it off until the building construction program opens up.

    Sleep.. what's that?

I will have a pint of Guinness while I wait for the architect to call back though....

Gotta shelf those dreams of a shiny new tanker for a while, and get those building plans ready for the big rush...

LVFD301 I would figure seeing first round of FPS awards sometime toward end of June, maybe beginning of July, based solely on gut. They went through Peer Review the last week of April(I know, I was there), and then there is additional paperwork/reviews within the program.

Well, now that we cleared the AFG hurdle, we can go back to watching for 1199 updates on FPS.

Or, start getting ready for the AARA application period for those looking for firehouse money.

    Good luck to everyone.

I got the beer if any of you want to stop by and pick up some, at least 42K worth, it may be a little shaken, and there are only three types available (Coors light, keystone, and keystone light) but it was cold, and trust me it is wet. Thats what happens when you take a t intersection in 5th gear with no brakes and lay it on its side. The health department said it must be disposed of properly, so the fire department volunteered to help. Nice bunch of guys.

Why can't we get a call like that? All we get is turkey or chicken trucks rolling over.
