Does anyone have one of these? What are our impressions of it? What do you like or dislike? Any problems?
This is not a tell me to buy your favorite product topic. I want to know specifically about this rig. PLEASE stay on that topic.

I doubt anyone has one. It was just released at FDIC.

Fdic
I saw this truck at FDIC and thought that this was one of the better laid out trucks i had seen in recent years. They had a few different configurations from what one the sales guys told me, 500 gallons up to 750 with a Q-Max 2000GPM pump.
Probably can check their website to get more information if needed.

Mvp
on ferraras website, they have pics and a video. they also have a layout of what all they put on the rig. to me, it looks like a good option for smaller depts or if you dont have much money. it seems like something my dept would look in to, but we have to make sure it can get around in out dist.

We had one stop by at my career FD as a demo. We are looking at a "Heavier Rescue" engine.
I liked the compartment layouts and the pump being inside the compartment.

Ferrara MVP
Our Dealer brought the MVP to my department as well. We had looked at the PUC previously but prefered the MVP since it seemed much more rugged and better fit and finish. It also uses a Hale QMAX which is what the rest of our rigs use.

We are currently in the process of spec'ing an MVP. We really liked the concept of the entire apparatus, and it fits our needs.
The one thing I can say, is that if you want a 750 gal. tank on it, Ferrara stretches the wheel base from 183" to 203" going to this configuration. We are currently working with the engineers to try and get the wheel base down to 198".
We have also completely re-laid out almost all of the compartments. We did away with the Haz-Mat and Tech. rescue equipment. We moved the rescue tools to the front bumper, and added a 4 bottle cascade w/ a 2 bottle fill station. We also took the ladders and put them through the tank. These are just a couple of changes that we made.
Just a side note, for people that are interested in this apparatus, it does NOT come cheap. It's $400,000 unequiped and around $600,000 equiped.

Seems like an interesting rig... The best thing they have done is load the demo unit with equipment, too often demo rigs show up totally bare and it is hard for people to visualize how much they can actually carry. Definately a good move loading it all up with gear.
