That would be great I would really appreciate it. I'm just curious because I filled out the background packet and read on their letter they sent that it would be 5-8 weeks before hearing back and its been well over 8 weeks. I was also told they would contact you by email weather or not you were removed from the list or made it to the next step. I'm assuming they just have a lot of applicants and the background process is taking longer than expected. Tampa is still my first choice but getting on anywhere in Florida would be a step up from where I am now lol. But again I would appreciate any info you can find out. Thanks again!!

I asked and from what I gathered he hasn't been scheduled an interview as of yet.

You are welcome, from the previous testing process it seems like we should expect something from Tampa about interviews in about 1-2 more weeks.

Na Charleston West Virginia, I moved here after I got out of the Academy in Florida just for the job. Besides the experience I regret it every day lol. How about you where do you currently work?

I work in Florida. I would rather keep the department private though. Its tough finding a job here, i've been actively searching for a few years. Even with experience and classes its difficult.

Haven't heard a thing. I called a few of my references and they haven't received any calls either. Guess it's just more of the waiting game.

I know they literally just put a class through, but does anyone know how often they open their application process up, like once a year or every couple of years? Also does anyone know how the D.R.O.P. looks for them? I know other departments in that area I.E. HCFR are losing over 150 in a couple of years. Thanks

TFD is a private pension system with a different multiplier so they do not correspond with the FRS dept's such as HCFR. FRS dept's are losing a lot of people due to pension system changes that occurred in 2011. TFD normally puts on a class every 1-2 years. Their process is VERY long. If its going to open up again at the same time it did last year, then it would be about now through June as far as a time frame.

Thanks for the info. So is it safe to say if I don't see anything by the end of June, then they are probably going to hire in 2014? Also do you know if they give preference to guys with experience or do they want fresh guys? Thanks
