Firefighter Lyle Lewis, 50, died in the line of duty on June 16, 2009. Firefighter Lewis was involved at interior operations at a farm home west of Alton when he was stricken. He was transported to Osborne County Hospital and died upon arrival there. Firefighter Lewis leaves his widow, Sherry, and five children to mourn his passing - along with his entire firefighting family at Osborne County Rural Fire District # 3 at Alton, Kansas. Our sympathies go out to his family and his fellow firefighters in their time of loss.
