    Default Certifications and age

Do any of you know what is the youngest age that some people have gotten their EMT license? Because I just graduated high school, and I had gotten interviewed by the paper, because I was one of the only kids in high school that anyone had known to have their EMT license and FF II certificate before graduation.

And one more question do u guys no if any departments will hire under the age of 21, because I am getting my HazMat Ops this summer and FF III also, and I am going to college to get my paramedic, so that by the time I have my paramedic I will be turning 21 in just a few months.

Forget the EMT certification, I don't know how you earned a high school diploma...

Seriously, if you're trying to land a career in the fire service, do yourself a favor and drop all the goofy text lingo. It's a bad habit and it makes you look like a slacker instead of an aspiring professional. Just my opinion.

"I have a dream. It's not a big dream, it's just a little dream. My dream and I hope you don't find this too crazy is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."
