SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides fire suppression, prevention, emergency medical and rescue response operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. A High School Diploma or G.E.D. Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess Fire Fighter I and II, Arizona Emergency Medical Technician or National Registry, Hazmat First Responder Operations, and CPR certifications, a valid Driver's License and a good driving record. Must pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and a medical examination.

Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) Preparation Guide
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: An employee in this class is required to live within fifteen (15) miles of the City limits, and within the United States.
Written Exam: If qualified, you will be notified when the next written test is scheduled. You must pass the test to proceed.
CPAT Orientation: All candidates who pass the written test and selected are strongly encouraged to attend eight Candidate Physical Ability Orientation Classes. You will be notified when the next orientation dates are scheduled .
Candidate Physical Ability Test: Candidates who successfully pass the written examination will be scheduled to attend CPAT testing.
Video: Selected applicants, after passing the CPAT Exam, will be scheduled for a video Exam.
Interview: Scheduled after passing the Video Exam.
Medical Examination: Prior to hire.
