I have been reading alot of job announcements lately that state "Applicants must possess a Hazmat First Responder Certificate'. I know this is probably something that I should already know (I'm one class removed from my AS) but I don't seem to be able to get any answers; what standard are they looking for? 472? 473? DOT? Operations? Awareness? Tech? If you google the term, you get about 144,000 replies, so I thought I should ask people who would know.

Hey Ross, your looking for 29CFR1910 .120 . It is an OSHA reg that covers the hazmat requirements. The below link has info on each level. I am in no way affiliated with this site so please don't think I'm trying to sell ya something LOL. They just have good informative links.

You will need the initial course and a refresher every year there after to maintain the cert.
Hope this helps
Be safe, R2
