"Senate Bill 303/PN302 is now before the Senate in Harrisburg.
It would provide grants of up to $100,000 to volunteer emergency service organizations that enter into partnership agreements or consolidate with other such organizations.
Grant money would be restricted to costs associated with vehicles, buildings and facilities, debt reduction, legal and adminstrative fees for establishing the partenership, and recruitment and retention efforts. It could not be used to cover salaries, fundraising costs, or personal benefit programs for members."
This was listed in the July issue of PA Township News.
Any fire company going through the merger process, like ours, should contact their state senator and urge them to pass this bill.
