I'm thinking I saw where somebody came out with a portable backpack carried pump but I can't remember where I saw it. Has anyone seen these and where can I get info on them?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Don't know if this is what you are talking about. See Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=66585
Weight is 26.5 lbs (pump only) We have tried one in our station with 50' of 5/8 garden hose, taking suction from a 40 gal plastic tank. With a standard brass garden hose nozzle, this pump was able to squirt 35 feet at about 3 gpm. We have decided to replace the electric pump on our 4 X 4 Deere with this unit. Suction will be valved to take suction from the 40 gal tank or from a 10 ft. - 1" booster hose squirrel tail with strainer. discharge will be valved to refill the tank or supply the 1" forestry hose on the 4 wheeler. Will post later after the unit has been fitted with valves and mounted on the unit.

Thanks neiowa, that's it.
http://www.wildfire-equipment.com/ Has a bunch of light portable pumps. Then there is the Honda WH20X pump, and there is also a carrying rig for the Waterous floating pump. But they all suit situations where there is a good source of water availible rather than there-transported jugs.
