Default HELP Dating OLD GLOBE TURNOUT SUIT

I recently acquired this Early Fireman's Turnout Suit, and am wondering if anyone out there has any information or is able to date the suit accurately. It was by "Globe" of Pittsfield, NH, has a heavy canvas exterior with cotton felt interior, wool cuffs. Leather Grommets with Metal brackets and hooks fasten the front, pants have rivets and snaps, hook-and eye at the waistline. Also, any advice on a forum to perhaps sell this suit or idea of value would be helpful as well, thank you kindly!

If you can find any number on it you can call Globe like he said.

Otherwise, post some pics and let us see. Just from your description, most manufacturers stopped using wool in turn out gear in the late 70's as far as I know.

If you're going to try to date the suit, I would ask it nice, buy it flowers and compliment it on it's appearance. Usually works.

any indication of what dept used it? that might be able to give you at least a period of time if the dept changed manufacturers or styles, also could compare it to pictures of that dept from various points in the past.

    Talking Crap.................

Thanks George, Pepsi up the nose again...........

In regard to the Turnout Gear, Look at the label and see if Globe's address has a Zip Code or an old Post Office Zone Number.......... That would move it to a point before or after 1963..........
