Default Time to show our support, yet again.

Brother FyredUp has apparently been "permanently removed". He was removed for attempting to keep some dignity in these threads, by telling a couple of non-hackers to get bent.

Let's show our support for our brother, once again. FyredUp brings value and substance to these forums, and it is important to show that we support those who do.

We can't afford to let the mutts run rampant.

Have you check with the web team to see why he was kicked?

I would bet a case of coors light that they had good cause.

    It was this thread

His actual post has been removed, but CaptainGonzo was able to quote him before the post was removed.

The Troll gets to stay, and a brother gets kicked off.

I for one IMMEDIATELY replied stating how retarded they were for that decision and for not banning LA.

And what exactly did I say in that thread?

I discussed the fact that the conference speakers focused on safety rather than being aggressive in situations where there was nothing to gain - abandoned structures and structures where evacuated was confirmed, and how that approach differed from some posters who beleive in no longer valid tradition-laden adages such "the building ain't empty until we say so.

So reducing our risk profile offends you so.

Actually as much as I disagree with him, I hate to see him go.

While I beleive much of what he says is no longer valid in today's world, I have no issue with him saying it.

In today's world?? That's the thing you don't understand. This safety thing aint a new movement. Like your the one ridding in from the heavens, with this new theory.. We as Fireman have been condoning safety for a long time now.. However, There's Your version of safety, and then everybody else's.. Me personally, I'm not gonna rely on some convention to help me "Be Safe".. I rely on training, instinct's and senior leadership.. But we still fight fires the "Old Way"............FROM THE INSIDE OUT................ So **** off

the new wave of "safety" is cowardice badly disguised as safety.

Never said it was new, but it seems to have picked up steam.

Fact is there are more people looking at how and why we operate. There are people who are actually thinking that maybe every building doesn't have to be searched.

We take the word of civilians that the building might be occupied but we don't beleive them when they say it's empty. Seems a bit odd to me.

Continue to fight abandoned structure fires and fires in commercial truss buildings, even though they have no value. It's your choice really. I hope it works out for you.

Today's world isn't like yesterday. Fewer firefighters. Hotter fires. Weaker construction. Earlier collapses. Maybe that's why the safety movement has picked up some steam.

And again, I wish he hadn't bee banned. He was a value to these forums. But he wasn't someone that I could consider sharing the view of the world with.

Welcome to the 21st century, the building construction has deteriorated long ago. Light weight truss's, Ahh man come on, you just now hearing about this stuff. and the hotter fires part, your just too much.. Since when after the invention of plastics have the fires got hotter?

You know, I think I got you figured out LA.. You sound like a middle age probie, That echo's what the real old crusty's talk about at the firehouse...WAKE UP........

If you spent more of your time training on these "Modern contraption's" and less 'Worrying' you would be better off..

Did you know, That you can mount offensive operations in trailer house's !!!

    Yea, I know

I vote for Fyredup!!! I can tell from experience he is no cowboy. I have known him for way too many years and have had him as an instructor many times. Just lately for a live house burn. Safety is always number one for him but we still have some good burns. He is a firefighter and I would follow his but in on any fire. He just calls it like he sees it. This a loss to the firefighting world. As for LA why don't everyone just ignore him.

The webteam often seems comprised of a bunch of pussies, but at the end of the day it is their board.

Management is making sure things are done right. Leadership is doing the right thing. The fire service needs alot more leaders and a lot less managers.

"Everyone goes home" is the mantra for the pussification of the modern, American fire service.

Comments made are my own. They do not represent the official position or opinion of the Fire Department or the City for which I am employed. In fact, they are normally exactly the opposite.
