    I don't suggest trying to hide it. Honesty is a critical trait of the firefighter. No matter how much knowledge and skill you poses, if they can't trust you, they won't hire you!

    If it comes up in the background or polygraph, you should have a chance to explain. Don't get nervous or go into a long dissertation when explaining it, either. Just be confident, truthful and to the point.
