Management is making sure things are done right. Leadership is doing the right thing. The fire service needs alot more leaders and a lot less managers.

"Everyone goes home" is the mantra for the pussification of the modern, American fire service.

Comments made are my own. They do not represent the official position or opinion of the Fire Department or the City for which I am employed. In fact, they are normally exactly the opposite.

There it is. Another example of blatant disregard of safety. How long are we going to continue to murder FF's?

This also proves career guys are way more reckless than vollies. He has his vest on backwards, he is not wearing a helmet or gloves, there is no spotter, that ladder is not secured in the ladder bed and the jacks on the truck are not down. This man is a disgrace to the fire service.

Not only that, I thought it was against the "code" for a pumper (engine) guy to touch a ladder truck. I hope they gave this guy at least 3 days off without pay, mandatory sensitivity training and a blanket party when he returned.

amazing, even spending time in the vicinity of a truck will turn even the smartest engineman into a swinging knuckle dragging ape!

    George.

They also allow their members to ride on the back of the truck, there are two of them doing it.

    It's a case of de-evolution...
