Smile Hello from the Piney Woods of East Texas

Just wanted to say hi to all and looking forward to alot of discussins here on the board. I have been around the fire service for my entire life as Dad was a Lt. in the fire dept as long as I can remember. Now I have finally found a home with West Harrison Volunteer Fire Dept. fighting old man fire.

I may be as half of my dept works for eastman, and it is in our district, even though they have their own dept.

Just curious, what happens there in Oct?

Saturday and Sunday they have classroom and hands-on fireground operations classes.

Monday night they have the prop burns where you rotate through all 3 burn racks and an SCBA maze.

    It's some very good training.

I believe this year it's the weekend of October 3rd/4th with the burn night on the 5th.

And with any luck, you wont have anything to do with it.

Damn it man, I almost choked on my M&Ms

Guys if you go to this training and meet up with LA, you can ask him in person to tell you about how he would watch a kid burn to death in front of own eyes, if the incident occurred outside of his district. All because its not his problem and because he is worried about getting hurt. I'm sure you will be impressed with this tick turd.

Default Just thaught i would say hello

Thaught i would stop by and say hello to all the east texas firefighters. I myself grew up in kilgore, and started my firefighting days with the sabine vol. fire dept 12 years ago. I can say with out hesitation some of the best firefighters in the world are in east texas.
