Fire Station on Fire

A fire at an Oklahoma City fire station at 620 NE 8 has been extinguished.

Fire crews returned to the station at 3:45 p.m. to find the fire. The crews called for help and began to fight the fire. Several pieces of equipment were pulled from the building and no vehicles were damaged

Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland said officials believe the fire started in the kitchen and said no one was cooking at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

An initial assessment indicated the station, which is scheduled to be replaced when a new Bricktown station is completed, has been rendered uninhabitable. Firefighters stationed there will at least be temporarily split and moved to nearby stations.

It sure isn't the first fire house that has been on fire and will not be the last either.

Having seen several kitchen fires in the houses here, I can attest it isn't good!
