    Default Bidding Process

Our department recieved a DJ for the 2008 AFG for PPE. We had to go ahead and put a RFP out to purchase some sets of gear. About a week after the bids were completed we got notice that we may get some remaining funds, and we did.

Has anyone gone through this same issue and did they make you totally rebid?

I would call the FPS assigned to your grant and get an email response from him/her regarding your procedure to follow. They are getting pretty staunch about adherence to procurement integrity so I would error on the side of caution here.

Since you were originally denied as long as the bid process is compliant with DHS regs you shouldn't have to rebid. Should fall into about the same process as emergency purchasing, which the area FPS will confirm when you talk to them.

I would still make sure you haven't incurred a price increase from the vendors. If you do get the award, try and have your costs predetermined in advance of accepting, otherwise you may have to come up with additional cash.
