    Default RIP Patrick Swayze

Dirty Dancing film star Patrick Swayze has died aged 57, his publicist says.

Annett Wolf said that the US actor, who had been battling pancreatic cancer for nearly two years, died with family at his side on Monday.

Swayze was diagnosed with advanced stage four pancreatic cancer in January last year.

The actor had been starring in US TV show The Beast since being diagnosed with the disease. He had also planned to write a memoir with his wife.

Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace

"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," said a statement by Annett Wolf quoted by the Associated Press.

He fought the good fight so to speak. Pancreatic cancer is a horrible and painful death, and he lasted a hell of a lot longer than many folks do with it. And he did it with dignity and not a whisp of a woe is me attitude.

I heard today that Hollywood is re-making Red Dawn. Can't see how it will be as good as the original or as timely.

Also the radio station I listen to on the way to work has a "Show Biz Buzz" trivia question everyday and today's was in honor or Patrick.

He grew up as a dancer, his mother owned a dance studio, and his first real job in show biz was as a dancer in the Disneyworld parade as what character?

Anyone care to take a stab?

    I guess his point broke.

    It's like the movie "Ghost"

    R.I.P. Patrick Swayze

"Ghost" was my favourite Swayze movie of all time and he will be missed.

Except for one mention, lately on the news, his resume seems to be starting with "Dirty Dancing".
Maybe "Red Dawn" isn't Hollywood's idea of what Americans should do in a movie much less real life if their country is invaded.
He wasn't my favorite actor by far but you never heard his name in connection with a drug arrest, prositution arrest,DUI,or other action that would have embarassed his family.

    I'm guessing "Goofy".

A good guess considering his stature, but wrong.

HINT: He did not wear a mask or head piece.

Nope. Didn't fly or play with little kids. Was more of a lady's man.

Hey! I was in the remake...........kinda. They're shooting the remake in Harper Woods (Detroit suburb) and they needed an ambulance in the scene on the side of the football field. They put Washington State plates on the rig and we sat there (cuz once your in the scene you can't move) for 13 hours! The whole time they shot the last 1 minute of the football game.
This time the Chinese attacks. They have Tom Cruise's adopted 14 yr old son in it.
Swayze and Charlie Sheen were classic in the original!
