Practice, practice, practice.
If you memorize the sheets you will know what the sheets say. If you practice the skill you will know how to perform the tasks.

I went through the red rocks academy about 7 or 8 years ago... out of a class of 30, only about 6 of us passed the practicals.
My advice is to memorize by reading them until you know every word on every one. If you miss a step, vocalize it. I missed "try before you pry" on the window vent evolution and the proctor asked if there was anything else? If the proctor gives you this lifeline, stop, think and add in anything if you think you missed something. I vocalized "try before you pry" and passed.
Good luck!
