Apparatus Grant Status

Does anyone have accurate info on the status of apparatus grants? I heard all grants had to be awarded before the Sept. 30 end of fiscal year date. Has anyone else heard that. Tomorrow is the 30th. I'm hoping no news is good news.

Sept 30th of the following fiscal year, so Sep 30th 2010 is when they have to be done with 2009 AFG. That's why the 2008s took the forefront since they had to be allocated by tomorrow.

They ought to call it the "Forget About It Grant." You write it, submit it, and then totally forget about it until you hear something. There is only one little problem with this line of thinking, though: they don't email you an 1199a update alert--so you are forced to keep checking this forum AND your account...over and over and over and over...until it consumes your daily activities to the point that you plan your day AROUND checking for your grants. I don't know how Brian does it with so many grants out there--I got 20 out and it's driving me crazy--and believe it or not, I have the log in names AND passwords memorized for all twenty departments! I know...I should probably go to the doctor, they probably have medicine for my disorder!

I think the AFG people get a kick out of reading forums like this...they like all the gnashing of teeth, etc...I truly believe someone there looks forward to this time of the year just as much as we look forward to the award part.

It's called wait until someone else finds one and then go look. Plus the Mrs is into the joy of finding them and making the phone calls too since she talks to everyone while we're putting the apps together so cuts the number of logins in half.

She wants no part of the forums, spends enough time in front of the computer as it is. Plus she already knows she's the reason they all get written since we'd be lost without her.
