Thanks Paso, I plan on it. I have my JPR's and plan on getting them done in the next couple of weekends so I can come off my probie status and charge full steam ahead.

I was enjoying the holidays and packing up my office. The current assignment ended abruptly... a bit earlier than was anticipated.

The new Elected Blood decided they no longer required my services and some others as well. That's OK, they have massive Budget issues and massive layoffs are coming city-wide. Besides, they have to immediately buy my contract out... they were reminded by the City Attorney of that little tidbit of info.

Anyone need a Hired Gun around April?

So... I'm OFF DUTY for a while.... just like the title of this topic. Actually, this is not a bad deal... 39 years 4 months and 5 days (I think) in the Fire Service, 8 Depts in 5 States...

I wonder where I'll go next? I think I might hang around the beach for a few months... in Hawaii.
PK- I was wondering where you had wandered off to. I missed you. It will be their loss and another department's gain sir.

I will be testing out a new brownie recipe this week as soon as I get my order from my baking supplier. I could use a test taster.

I appreciate the offer, and I really don't mind yellow trucks... I worked on a Yellow Truck in my youthful days. To my surprise, it actually did the same thing as a red truck.

I'm good Brother... the next assignment might be in GA or SC around April. I have been visiting with some folks in those areas since October. This one ended just a little sooner that expected; contract ended in June.

I'm glad that we don't have those problems at my Vollie Dept., you know the pensions, overtime, and contract negotiations, part.

I know it surprised me as well the first time that I tried out one our beautiful Yellow Fire trucks. I think they perform better than those plain Jane Red ones!

Well during your, job hunt, if your down this way give me holler and I'll give you the tour,

We could have blind folded you and put you in a truck of any color and you would have never known the color or the difference.

You think the truck knows the color it is?

Lets go and eat a few donuts and drink some coffee, I am buying!!

There is nothing better than being at a Krispy Kreme place and those hot fresh glazed donuts come off the icing rack and into a box and sit there and eat and eat!!!

Of course the truck knows what color it is! Its a proven scientific fact that Yellow fire trucks are the happiest trucks!

When I was a kid, my dad would take me and my brother to the KK in Raleigh and let us watch the donuts being made and then he would buy us a dozen and cold glass of milk. Those were the days. Maybe that is the reason I became a Deputy?
