Thats what you've got the loader in the second picture for, right?

WWOOOHHOOO. Got a treat tonight. We stopped in at the LCBO (liquor store) and I found me some Negra Mondelo beer. Haven't had any of that since I left NoVa. Oh and a bottle of Wisers Special Blend too. That'll knock the dust off'n ya!

    MORAL FOR THE DAY:

    Posted: 30 Mar 2010 02:39 PM PDT

One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he
    quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
    *****

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred – Forgive.

Free your mind from worries – Most “worries” actually never happen.

Live simply and appreciate what you have.

    Give more.

    Expect less

    NOW …….

    Enough of that crap…
The donkey later came back, and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him.
The gash from the bite got infected and the farmer eventually died in agony
    from septic shock..

    MORAL FROM TODAY’S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover your @ss,
it always comes back to bite you.

Don't know what his intentions were for me...

Unfortunately, while he was coming up to the house, he was caught by the snare that was intended for problem critters...

Let's just say... he didn't suffer...

My apologies to those that would have been visited after he left my domicile.

Perhaps I can persuade the Tooth Fairy to complete his rounds...

    I will let you know.

ps: While I was walking around in the yard, I just happened to come across about 47 tons of candy; chocolate bunnies, jelly beans and peeps mostly. Any ideas?

I guess that explains why the Easter Bunny did not show up here. You probably should not send any fairies here. However, you can send some of that chocolate. I like chocolate bunnies. I like to bite their ears off first when I eat them. I am not overly fond of peeps. Jelly beans- are they jelly belly beans?

    Default Message In A Bottle

Message in bottle finds recipient - after 25 years

By Lindsay Kines, Times Colonist April 3, 2010

It was bobbing in the weeds like a friend request from the time before Facebook.

“I may not know you, you don’t know me,” it said. “But if you find this note, give me a call.”

It was signed Doug and he included his telephone number.

“Thank you,” he wrote. “Whoever you are.”

Whoever you are turned out to be Irene Soares, a 57-year-old woman from Duncan.

On a warm Saturday morning recently, she and her husband, Mark, decided to take their canoe for a spin on Somenos Lake not far from their home. There is a creek that runs off the lake and empties into Cowichan Bay and the couple ventured down the waterway before getting turned back by weeds and trees.

That’s when Irene picked up a bottle caught in the willows.

“I thought, ‘Oh, 10 cents,’ ” she says, chuckling. “I pick up cans and bottles and I recycle and it’s just ridiculous.”

This time, though, Irene noticed a note inside the old Gordon’s Dry Gin bottle, which was covered in slime and too slippery to open. She took it home and used a pair of vise-grips to unscrew the top.

“It was bone dry inside,” she says. “And it was a very well-worn piece of paper, typed out somewhat sporadically.”

There was no date on the letter, but Irene suspected it was old, since nobody on Vancouver Island has used the 604 area code for years.

A less curious person might have tossed the note away at this point. Not Irene. She accepted the friend request without hesitation.

“Are you kidding?” she says. “I thought it was just too cool … It said, give me a call, so I did.”

The people who answered the telephone were cautious at first. They told her Doug didn’t live there any more.

“I thought, ‘Oh dear,’ ” Irene recalls.

Then they added: “That’s our son. He moved away from home, oh, some time ago.’ ”

So Irene explained about finding the message in a bottle, and that seemed to set them at ease.

“We all had a good giggle and laugh about it,” she says.

By the time she hung up the telephone, Irene had Doug’s last name and his new telephone number.

Give me a call, he’d said. So she did.

Initially, Doug Fantillo, 33, had no idea what the woman on the end of the line was talking about. He had no recollection of a note in a bottle, nor why anyone would be calling him about it.

But as Irene talked, Fantillo’s memory flashed back to a summer some 25 years ago when he was eight or nine years old, hanging out with his friend Jimmy at the Forestry Museum — not far from his parents’ home overlooking Somenos Lake. He figures it was at the museum — now the B.C. Forest Discovery Centre — that he found the old gin bottle and got the idea to send someone a message.

“I was kind of hoping it would go to the ocean and that somebody in China would find it,” Fantillo says. “But, oh well, it made it 50 feet.”

    Fifty feet and 25 years.

If the bottle didn’t make it very far in the end, its discovery sent Fantillo on a journey into the past, back to a time when he and Jimmy could spend all day exploring and then head home to their parents at night.

“Nowadays, you can’t go like that,’ he says. “Your kids have to be accompanied by adults.”

Now, kids are barely left alone long enough to find a bottle, let alone drop a note inside with their home telephone number on it, and then toss it off the dock for some stranger to find.

Now, if people reach out to one another, they’re more likely to do it by e-mail or instant text message. The notes don’t arrive covered in weeds, rarely require vise-grips to open, and the reply doesn’t take 25 years to arrive.

But they don’t reach out of the past either, dripping with nostalgia as well as lake water. So Irene figures she’ll try to keep Doug’s chain letter afloat.

She plans to photocopy his note, add one of her own, and toss the gin bottle back in Somenos Lake in hopes that someone, somewhere will find it and decide to give them both a call.

    “Thank you. Whoever you are.”
