I'm fixing Cajun shrimp and rice with steamed Spring veggies. Washing it down with a local white zin.

I'm going to take the wife out to eat. Probable at the new Greek Restaurant in town.

How are all of you on sushi??? Never tried it, but a new place opened up that got great accolades. The FOAM was thinking about giving it a try on Saturday, our "date" night.

Sounds like there's several yummies to choose from! Way to go, guys!

    {And Malahat still sets off the smoke alarm with his cajun snapper but it is SO good!}

Sushi is great, I love it! I did not think at first that I would but after I tried it, I realized what I had been missing. It helped that the Sushi Bar that we went to had name tags on each item so that you knew what you were eating. And the biggest plus was that it was all you could eat!

I know what you mean, It's really blowing hard here in the Mtns. I just hope we don't catch any brush fires tonight or its going to rough in a hurry.

I have to say, I was concerned about eating raw sea foods.

Where we went, wasn't a buffet type thing. But to choose what I know I liked (cooked), and trying something different, was a bit over whelming. All in all, I enjoyed the tastes of what I selected. The FOAM as well, liked what she got.

The waitress knew that this was our first experience for sushi. When she delivered our plates, with a green paste on the side, I made no hesitation on digging in, and digging into the green paste. Big mistake on my part, and visually the same from the girls expression. Holy shyt, that is some hot stuff. I've had Wasabi before, but not this strong.

I have to agree with you Bull, it's something you have to try. And when you do, you found a new taste and experience.

We ended up going to a sushi place last night too and had an absolutely excellent meal. The green tea was even the real thing, not something from a powder or a tea bag. One very pleasing difference was the sweet n sour chicken; most Oriental places give you a thick, overly sweet, artificially red sauce but what we were served was naturally colored and wonderfully tangy. I even tried the green tea ice cream! All in all, YUM!

I'm glad that you like it, I'm sorry that I failed to mention that the "Green Stuff" was just a touch hot. The first time that I ate some, I thought that I had a "Back Draft" in my mouth. It was a blessing in disguise, because if I had been able to talk, I would have said something that was not meant to be said in mixed company. Thank God that my wife had a full glass of tea or I would have died!

    LMAO...

That's where the saying goes, "Once burnt, twice shy", comes in.

And yeah, a little notice on the "Green Stuff" would have been nice.

    Unhappy

Gawd, I ate something one of the members fixed yesterday at one of the houses in my district and I can tell you it was a mistake. I feel like my insides are all trying to exit my body!

I should have stopped by Arby's.

I can't tell you what he fixed but it looked good. Can't say it look good today!!!

I hope everyone has a nice Mothers Day. I sure miss mine.

Take a cruise, you can try different foods and if you do not like them order something different again. Great cold soups.

Hey all...had a nice Mothers' Day here - although with the wind and the SNOW it was too nasty to go for a ride.....

Went to the movies, saw 'How to Train Your Dragon' - cute movie...then went to dinner where the food was good, but it took FOREVER.....sat at about 645, got out at about 845!.....we will give the place another try on a non-holiday.....

Right now I'm waiting to find out if I start staying home one day a week next week - without pay.....already have a job lined up, but not at what I am making here.......but better than nothing!

Been on several crusies no biggie. Food is ok just too much to try to get your moneys worth. Adult drinks should be cold, food hot.

We were at the Tractor Pull at Millers Tavern as you posted your Message (Above Quote) Windy wasn't quite the proper Discription, after seeing Waves on the Rappahannock River that looked like they came from the Chesapeake Bay....... We circled (Squared?) 4 RVs to have a Calm spot, and we were able to Grill after our Class pulled (9pm) Dinner was great, but CHILLY!

(Millers Tavern is on 360, about 8 miles west of Tappahannock, at the Essex/King and Queen County Line. Probably not too far from you.)
