Apparently Chicago has cancelled it's upcoming purchase for aerial ladders. I guess they will go to bid for a fourth time!

I would like to submit a bid on behalf of the rest of people of Illinois to throw the whole city of Chicago out.
And another thing. When I say I'm from Illinois DO NOT ASSUME IM FROM CHICAGO. I live 30 minutes from a place called Busch (beer, yummy) Stadium where champions roost. I live hours from a place called Wrigley (gum, on the bottom of my shoe) Field where said champions occasionally visit.
Since this is the apparatus forum...
I think fire trucks should be red.

Did OCFA cancel an existing order with E-One? I was under the impression the last bid was simply awarded back to KME.
Edit: Thread about OCFA, with information from one of the apparatus committee members - OCFA returns to KME.Last edited by BoxAlarm187; 10-08-2009 at 09:28 PM.

We (OCFA) are currently reviewing the latest information from E-One for two 95' Platforms. We went to Florida for our pre-con in late July and are still working with them to try and make their design work.
Our Board of Directors has approved a request from us (apparatus committee) to cancel the order if E-One can't meet our specs and we should have a final answer in a week or two once our review is completed.
For those that work on apparatus committees and such, you can understand that I can't give any specifics right now, but I will confirm that cancelling the order is a possibility.
Does anyone know why Chicago cancelled their aerial order with E-One?

Chicago Ladders
For a city that is furlowing employees three days without pay in the last six months of 2009 because they don't have any money, I doubt if they have the money to order any new ladder trucks.

Recall reading the specs back when they were on the Chicago Purchasing site, but what was the height requirement again and were these to be 100's or 110's?
