Can someone tell me if the only thing needed to apply to a DoD job through USA Jobs is the self nomination or is there something else that needs to be submitted? The resume is in the resumix system and I sent a self nomination... is that it? I like the old school way of faxing or emailing the resume so that I know its done but what can you do.. haha.
Thanks!

You've also attached a copy of a certifications page, DD-214 and any licenses as well, correct?

Personally, I would apply for any/all jobs individually through the HRO/CPO website of each particular branch. The resume builders are slightly different for each branch and they do ask for a little different info and in different ways. Also, you can then track the application process and see if/when you get referred for a position and where the position is. Sometimes positions post on the individual websites that don't appear on USAJOBS as well.

...the air force only hires *through* usajobs externally. the only way you can apply for air force jobs through the apfc website if you are already an air force civilian employee. army is a little different because it doesn't use your resume pulled from usajobs, it uses the 'answer' system to determine eligibility, and you can apply via cpol directly. navy? egh, not too sure about those guys...

We have not had to include that DD form because of being active duty but I did include a letter from my NCO stating my status and history as one job listing required that. Do you include all your fire certs as well? I have not noticed any listings requiring that unless you were looking to qualify only on education. The system is pretty confusing and I sure do like a paper trail!
I will check out HRO/CPO as well and see what thats about.
Thanks all!

Most job listings that I've read have asked for proof of certifications... I send in a PDF of a screen capture of the www.dodffcert.com as my proof.
