on the phone with HR today they said they are accepting ff emt even though it does say medic ...

first 200 applicants get in .....

i think they said written test then .. only top 100 onto physical fitness and then top 30 on to oral board.

if they are really only looking for medics and HR screwed up saying emt could do it to they are gonna be mad when they get 180 emt apps. LOL .... i imagine medic get first choice tho.

i just got off the phone with some1 from HR she states that their are still openings and to the best ofher knowledge the test is going to be more of a civil service type test....everything is going to be done through emails

if I remember correctly from my application packet 5 years ago, it looked fairly comprehensive (at least on paper, could be much easier in practice).
anyway I'm really just replying to this thread to encourage people to apply, as they have some of the best benefits you will find. there are some cons that could get you killed of course, like a lack of ICS and two man engines, but I'm sure they are working on both of these items...hopefully.

I got the email this morning and uploaded my certs. I spoke to the recruiter and she stated that they did get a little over the 200 because they weren't able to close the posting in time. She did say she noticed a bunch will be disqualified because they will not have their minimum standards before the test dates and some others for various other reasons.

She also gave me a heads up and said she will be sending out another email to people with more documents and testing info and dates. She said she's hoping to send that out soon and to look out for them. She was very nice. Good luck to everyone who applied.

firepr00f: yea dude she was real nice. one of the nicest ladies i've spoken to when it has come to having questions regardin an application. she said within 5 days we'll be getting emails with directions and testing information. IMHO i think even since it says its opened to FF/EMT this position is mostly gonna be givin to medics.

nah she said you could email it in jpg, tif or pdf format. it seems like thats her personal email so i just replied to that email. i'll just call tomorrow and confirm receipt.
