Default OK, Is the first week of Nov. when notification begin?

I really should have started that pool after all. Brian gave hints about posssibly having our halloween stockings filled. Andy relayed some insight about the delays he got while at FP&S training and I said Set. 8th was the 1199 starting date after talking with a guy at the help desk, who I was begining to think was just a yahoo. Turns out he was just as reliable as the rest.

Now I know getting our hopes built up just leads to a let down, but are the Station Grants really the cause for the delays? I know it was a lot of money per award, but I'm getting to the point where I kinda want to know which items I want to write for between the Bufferzone Grant which normally begins in December and the AFG afterwards. Confirm my targets far enough in advance. I'm not as skilled as those who write 33 application or 400 per grant offering.

I was begining to think the easiest approach to waiting would have been to forget the process and wait for an email notification, but realized that was not realistic either because of the length of time passing from closing/closeout date to today. If one should get an award with mutiple items that require sizings and fittings or installations, freight, recordkeeping, coordinations with other departments and training to meet the claims within the award, it could put a lot of time mangement pressure on those of us who have to physically do those jobs ourselves. Plus write next years applications.

So I wish they would kick this pig so we don't have to waste any effort preparing for what might be the results. If I don't get the applications awarded, fine, but I would have like to have had a least a better understanding of what my chances were begining two stupid freaking months ago.

OK, I say the first notification will appear here on,,,,,, Nov. 18th

If there is approx. 4 weeks between 1199's and awards, Nov. 13th would work out to announce an award at our Department X-mas party Dec. 11th.

What is a 1199? I don't know since we've been rejected every year. We're a BLS ambulance service in need of a new ambulance. The feds don't see it our way.

I'm gonna go with WED the 4th.
[it's my birthday so a present from the feds would be nice]

    I'd much rather a Tim Hortons card. Way better coffee :-}

It is my birthday too on the 4th, but I am sticking to my 11-9-9 date. I know they never drop these on a Monday, so I am going to play that there are so many that the server crashes and is not fixed until Monday morning.

    OK!
Islandfire - on the 4th (btw Happy Birthday)

    admpaul - on 12/25,, (btw that s**ks)

and Imafire - on an insightful Nov. 9

so far here is what I have taken in November

    4-Islandf
    5-hinesf
    6-Kurt
    9-Imaf
    13-Sidizz
    18-me
    20-Farmf
    26-rj

and 'admpaul' has taken an unoptomistic, though not unrealistic guess on, 12/25.

closes one without going past its selected date is the fairest way I'm betting. This could be interesting.

Dang, while I was fighting with this new system, someone got my date. So I guess that I will take the 25th of Nov., not not trying to steal the 25th of Dec. since my esteemed friend has so much faith in DHS.
