A window washer narrowly escaped injury Thursday morning when a car plunged out of a second-storey window at a parkade.
Around 10:30 a.m., a 79-year-old man drove his grey Toyota Matrix over two curbs and through the glass at 1625 Oak Bay Ave., a three-storey commercial building with parking on its second level, said Const. Peter Lane.
The car plunged into a concrete wall and flipped onto its roof. A window cleaner was on a ladder cleaning third-floor windows adjacent to the spot where the car crashed through the window.
“Had he been positioned just a few feet over, we would have had a fatality,” said Lane.
The driver was taken to hospital with what police say appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say it appears the crash was the result of driver error and confusion.

What is a Parkade?? Anything like Gatorade?........... And you spelled Center wrong. The "E" comes before the "R" not after......
