SITREP: Some rain up here in the Lehigh Valley, enough to be annoying but hardly enough to get even remotely concerned about. Occasional "sustained" winds, again enough to be annoying but hardly enough to concern me. It is just plain cold and raw here. Good day to snuggle up with SWMBO under a comforter and fall asleep while she watches chick flicks.
Doc and Bones, on the other hand, probably have different SITREPS to file, and they are the ones I am worried about.Last edited by FWDbuff; 11-14-2009 at 09:29 AM.

We have had quite a bit of flooding. We fell just a few short tenths of inches short of Hurricane Isabel flooding levels. Worked Wed night on Ladder 11 for 4 hours. In that small time span we had two overturned vehicles on the intertates, a fire alarm system so flooded out with rain water that it shorted out and a small electrical fire. That on top of people thinking it was great surfing weather.
Worked last night on the West side at Eng 10. Had a small fire there, still lots of flooding and trees down. We just came off modified response (ie- no smoke or flame, one unit only) this morning at 6am. Thankfully no one was hurt. However there have been 3 fatal accidents that I am aware of. Lots of people still without power (Station 10 just got power and hot water back this morning).

Amateurs practice until they get it right; professionals practice until they cannot get it wrong. Which one are you?
'The fire went out and nobody got hurt' is a poor excuse for a fireground critique.

I left Weds morning for Fla.
My house and truck made it through the flooding. My FD ran their butts off, and had a civilian fatality, in the flood waters.
I missed the NJ EMS Task Force emergency activation, the floods, the rain, the cold.
I did pass my OCFRD PPAT. On to the next step!
