Default Pool play. Is the last week of November,,,,

or this week, going to be the week when 1199's appear? I realized that 2 weeks from today is Dec.1st. Getting a more than a bit anxious here. I actually thought that the first week of November would be the start. I can only imagine the workload that AFG is going through, but I did work retail during Christmas for years.

    Here's how the pool stands.

    November has available 22nd & 29th.

Here is what's Taken in December (which is looking golden right now)

Dec. 2,4,10,11,18, and admpauls christmas day.

Here is what's taken in January

    Jan. 2,4 and Volfireman034 has the 14th.

    BSFD9302 is sitting on today.

If you have chosen a date that has since passed you may choose again or go to the waiting bar. The crowd is getting bigger and bigger and more rowdy. AFG may be joining us soo

Just got off the phone with DHS. Said we would definitely "hear something" within 3 weeks.

But, I want to marry the man I spoke with (don't worry i'm a woman). He said if you're in the program review that you have a very good chance of funding. This was music to my ears. Our department needs a new ambulance so badly.

Almost all of the roads are dirt/gravel, we're in the mountains of the NE--lots of snow, and we have a 13 year old front wheel drive ambulance that breaks down all the time or gets stuck in a mud puddle.

I sure hope good news get to everyone on here soon. Pray hard everyone!!

    Per the PG:

Each application that scores high under the peer review process will be deemed in the fundable range. Applications that are in the fundable range will undergo both a Technical Review by a subject matter specialist as well as a Program Office review prior to being recommended for award.
You have been through this if you:

    1) Found a reduction in the budget.

    2) Recieved a 1199A.

    3) Recieved the 10 q's.

He told me. He said if you see a budget reduction, you're in the program review and you'll most likely get an 1199.

How much did you put in for the ambulance? We put in for a rescue 4x4, lots of snow here, most of our calls are ems, and ours is 15 yrs old, falling apart on every call. Priced one out at $112k. Brian, Onebugle, anyone - if you read this do you think we'll see a reduction at this figure?

Put in for $142,010 (this was a price quote we got on a 4x4 type III ambulance). Reduced to $123,500. Fed share is $ 117,325.

farmer at $112k you're at the lower end of the scale so I don't see you getting reduced beyond that point.

Whar are the chances now of DHS waiting until after the second round of station grants and safer app. period before we see any 1199's or awards for afg?

I would suspect slim. No real reason to wait...if the second round of station grants is coming out, the work is done and the real work for SAFER will not happen until the end of the application period....peer review etc. which could take a couple of months to complete.

    Smile Character count

For some reason this morning when I first woke up (awakened), one of the first groggy thoughts that came to mind was a possible increase in the character count for the AFG narratives. Since the station grants narratives were so high, is it possible that they might accept a higher count for the upcoming AFG? Wouldn't that upset the peer reviewers, because If I was one, that would just increase the amount I would have to read. Then again as a grant writer I wouldn't mind having a few thousand characters extra.

I have no idea why this popped into my head while making my way to the bathroom.

This is the first time that I wished I saw a budget reduction...
... darn... we need a tanker.. our closest mutual aid tanker got moved 30 minutes away..
Does anyone know if $235,000 is out of the normal range for a 3000 gal tanker?

I don't see that getting dropped since it's a bigger tanker. At best it would go to $225k. Odds are we'll see 1199As sooner than later then those will be the first indicator again.

Maybe towards the upper end with a PTO pump. But considering you're now going to be stuck with the new envirowacko 2010 emissions package you not have much left over.

We requested a 2010 tanker with dump tank and it was qutoed at 231,000.
We have not received a reduction yet, but I am concerned do the fact we we submitted our request we place all of our call info and when the submit was pushed our ems calls fail to enter. Our equipment grant we had no problem, I do really see where ems calls would have an effect. It is there to fill out so I fiqured it would count

That sounds about right for the tanker. Our average quote for a 2009-based chassis was $225K, and we were advised to budget an additional $10K for new emissions.

In '07 we got $231,800 Fed share, $244,000 total, on a 3,000 gal tanker with a 500 gpm pto pump.

Sucks doesn't it!! Try Toys R us. I had to send an employee to the ER because a bunch of grandmas trampled him while they were trying to get to the Holiday Barbies.

As for my Pool date. it has now come and gone. I am not choosing another because I hardly can stand the anticipation of AFG starting and do not want to add to the stress hoping my date is the start. I'll just go back to the bar and tie a few more on instead.

Oh well, good luck to whoever wins!!

Just a day and a half away from the 20th. I have that feeling. Hope my day hits so we can all relax a little or for some just add to the anxiety level.

    Default Sorry all

But the date for 1199's is looking more and more like the day after Thanksgiving (the day I picked). Only a week away. Hope I won't have to eat my words, because I'll probably still be stuffed.

I dont know about the day after turkey, government employees dont work that friday. However that doesnt mean someone will go in and push that button to dump the 1199's. Tomorrow just may be the day.
