    Default Speakers/Seminars

Every year my FD brings in a speaker to lead a seminar or training session for our firefighters and the FD's in the surround area. We've had some great great speakers and classes and I'm trying to find a good one for 2010.

Any suggestions? We've had Goldfeder, Salka, Dodson, the Traditions Training guys, and some assorted others.

Mike Wilbur does great stuff on driving, driver safety and the liabilities associated with driving like a fool, in apparatus or POV's. Pretty decent aerial ops stuff as well. http://www.emergencyvehicleresponse.com/

Management is making sure things are done right. Leadership is doing the right thing. The fire service needs alot more leaders and a lot less managers.

"Everyone goes home" is the mantra for the pussification of the modern, American fire service.

Comments made are my own. They do not represent the official position or opinion of the Fire Department or the City for which I am employed. In fact, they are normally exactly the opposite.

Stop beating around the bush and just ask me to come already.

I have a great presentation on blue lights and leather helmets. Pros/Cons.

Yes, unfortunately I wasn't there for it. I have participated in this at the Expo in the past also. However, I think it was a different group.

I can't remember why, but I missed it.

Looks like fun. I love matchbox cars!

My uncle lives in Bossier Parrish.

Been there once and was woke up by the neighbors selling drugs in his front yard.

I wondered why they told us to stay away from the windows after dark?

Steve Chickerotis, Chicago FD Battalion Chief and Chief of Training. 17,000 + working fires, he knows his stuff.

Great presentation, covered a great amount of fireground training/tactics information along with leadership/management information. 3 hour training and was never ONCE bored. Very nice guy, too.

Please ask your uncle to consider moving. Unless LA FriedEdumacator is a lone cowboy who is talking our his a** on hear, they seem to have one of the most incompetent FD's in the country.
