Hello, hopefully someone that has served on an oral board may have some advice on this. I tested with a department about a month ago. This passed weekend I was involved in a sporting injury to my knee (nothing broken on the X-rays, but have my appointment with my doctor tomorrow, hopefully will get an MRI), that has left me with a knee immobilizer and on crutches. I just learned today that I am scheduled for an oral board interview in about 2 weeks. Luckily I had just redone my CPAT 2 weeks ago. Now, I'm wondering how bad this will look on an oral board to see a candidate stroll in on crutches. or, should I man up and just get a robocop knee brace and wear that under my suit and try to not walk with a gimp.

Don't try to BS the panel. They invented BS. Your simple explanation of what happened would be easier.
You might be in better shape in two weeks, then make your decision.______________________________ _______________

Go for it
As someone who has seen this during an Oral Interview...I say go for it. We had a laugh about how this poor guy broke his leg getting out of the trunk of a car. It was very humorous to say the least......and he scored well.

thanks for your advice. I will just go in the condition I present in 2 weeks. Turns out, I just found out I have another interview for a dept that had shut down its recruitment process last year, the list remained active and I just got a call.. just when I thought I wasn't in any processes, I find out that I'm in 2.. great timing on the injury huh.
