Im surprised that there hasent been much talk on this departments recent recruitment activity. I am a fire/emt, currently finishing up medic school. I contacted there HR department today and was told that they have narrowed the applicants to approximatly 100, and that i am in that group :sweet: Anyone else apply or have any info on this department?

Wish I would have known about their OPEN recruitment... they were accepting ANY fire cert. and EMT/Medic, Im from MI btw so I would have applied in a heart beat.

I think they were only hiring only medics or fire medics and maybe if your already in a medic school. well anyway good luck

I called on Wed. They said the department is looking at around 430 of the 600 applications they received. They said we should be notified in around 3 weeks. Also the person I spoke with in the HR department said she thinks there is 8 openings.

Last year when they took in apps. they had around the same number apply and the same number of open spots. They only hired people with both certs Fire and Medic.

Seems like there HR department might be giving out some conflicting info. they told me they had narrowed it down to approx. 100, you HAD to be fire certified, and they were not sure if they were gonna consider EMT's or Paramedics only. Still no word from them yet... everyone keep your fingers crossed.

I called hr and they told me over 450 apps she asked me if i got an email saying there no longer interested in you. I told her no, so she said thats very good becouse there still narrowing the apps down. She didnt give me much more info than that. So from what i understand as long as you dont get an email of rejection your on the list... Good luck to all
