All I can say is "WOW"!
'Super Ted' still fighting thanks to Air Ambulance
Nov 22 2009 by Ken Oxley, Sunday Sun
FROM somewhere, miracle baby Ted Parks finds the strength to smile.
Doctors believe he has a heart condition so rare, he is the only sufferer in the world.
Three times it has stopped his heart beating, and three times he has been brought back from the brink of death.
Last month, with just 10 minutes to live, the youngster was transferred from Teesside to Tyneside by the Great North Air Ambulance for live-saving treatment.
Medics feared for the youngster’s life so much the Tyne Tunnel was closed to rush his parents to his side.
At just five months old he needs a new heart - but he courageously clings to life.
That’s why nurses at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital call him “Super Ted”.
Today, with their baby boy strapped to the machine which does the job his heart can’t, Ted’s devoted parents Kay Husband and Stephen Parks, have told his incredible story.
They want the region to know the Air Ambulance saved his life. And they need the world to know: “Our baby needs a new heart.”
Still unable to shake the memory of seeing Ted shocked back to life by A&E doctors, Kay, 34, said: “Ted smiled at us for the first time in five weeks and it just felt amazing.

While it will be tragic for one family, I hope that they can see through their grief and give the gift of life to "Super Ted"."The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."
