I am so thankful that the Lord gave me another day to live in this wonderful country.
I am so thankful for the men and women in uniform who are protecting our freedom.
I am so thankful for my family, who will always be there when I need them.
I am so thankful for my brotherhood family, because I know they have my back.
I am so thankful that I have clothes on my back, food to eat and a place to call home.
Everyone should have something to be thankful for today. Many people today are without a home, job and something to eat. Many are overseas away from there family, and many are at the station on duty. Give thanks today and may FEMA unleash the hoards of 1199's and we can be thankful for a potential grant.

    I'll echo farmerfire, and add...
My wife and sons, especially Andy who is serving our Country in the USAF.
My friends here on the Forum, i've learned a lot from you all.

While we all wait for 1199a's (or reductions )...i'm thankful for bunker gear, a brush truck, hose and applicances, wildland gear, air packs and fill system, hand tools, hose roller, washer, and so much more from AFG, USDA Forestry and others. If we never hit it again...these programs have been a tremendous boost for our department. I'm thankful for all who make it possible...even Congress!!!

    I am thankful today for:

*That God has granted me a second soul mate; most are lucky to have one and I have been fortunate and blessed with a second

    * That I live in a country that still has men and women with the fortitude and guts to patriotically serve in our military and keep my family and I and the principles of Freedom alive

    * That I live in a Nation of Neighborhood heroes who daily risk their lives to protect and serve and allow me the peace of mind to sleep comfortably in my bed each night in relative safety

    * That God has given me a talent that has allowed me to continue to serve my country and to assist those Neighborhood heroes to return safely to their families after each shift

*That through my travels and work I have had the happy fortune of developing an extended group of friends and colleagues who provide me with a sense of worth and purpose to rise and face each day, good or bad

    * That I have good health, a job and a roof over my head each day and for providing me with the common sense to know that I belong to the minority who enjoy those things.

    * That my children have all grown to be productive, moral and caring citizens without having embarrassed me by being drug addicts, deadbeats or jailbirds

    * Finally I am thankful for Bobby Bowden and FSU; I hope we stomp the Gators on Saturday! ( Yea OK, maybe a little wishful thinking there)

For these things and many other I am indeed thankful!

Now get out of my way and pass the turkey and venison!! Ya'll have a good one. Here's wishing all of my fiends and colleagues a peaceful, event free day!
