Yea, I got all excited when I saw an incoming email from DHS Grants, but another false alarm.... back to Waiting Bar before the ice melts in my drink....

I got it, too. Had the same knee-jerk reaction until I realized it had an '08 number in the subject header. Then I got nervous.

What are they trying to do......cause a massive increase in MI's. Saw that....great something on '09, then saw the reference to '08 and just figured it would be the notification on the close out reports, but lo & behold about Acorn.

    Barkeep give me a quad.

Well maybe this is a sign of things moving. The Closeouts are open again and now they are saying you cant participate with ACORN (if funded I guess). So maybe its just stuff to get out of the way so they can hit the button.

Looks like it only went to grants currently in their Period of Performance. No need to make that statement to anyone who doesn't have active funds.

I have two grants in their active period of performance. No ACORN letter. FP&S and SAFER.

    No reductions.

The guy who used to be Chief here died of a massive heart attack while hunting 3 years ago today. 27 miles from the ER, CPR in progress. Long ride. Hell yes he is missed.

I think its time to take a ride. Someone call me if FEMA does something today.

    Thumbs down Me too

I too was excited when I saw who was sending the email with a application number attached to it.

I took notice of the name of the sender also. Maybe a contact to a sidedoor of the grant management section who could give us an update. The kind where we could try and convince a newbie to ask for a status report on the notificiations.

Anyway, ACORN is one of those out of control agencies. Feel they're entitled to everything and can take advantage of everyone. The government needs to just force them to work out of one office and depend on donations only. An example of what's going wrong in this country. rant!

Your date selection in the pool play expired last night. All of us in November lost. Who would have guessed.

Ours hit on the last fire prevention grant we got. They might be sending them out to people who have received those only.

I rec'd two letters. The first was for a grant that is currently open. The second had a reference # from a grant from 3 yrs ago and is closed out. It's also the grant I have to look up to see if the 1199A has been updated/released. Would I be wrong in assuming 1199A's for 2009 have to be coming soon?

I don't want to get my hopes up, but I also need to go back and settle up with the bartendar.

They should be out soon if they still want to make the 18th for Round 1. Reductions are still abound but need more official word than that to make it a grant program.

Is that a hint that we should start warming up our log-in fingers early in the morning??????

Beats me, just a guess since that's 2 weeks off and no 1199As yet. Can't see them working that quickly to make it a major round with reductions being known already. Still have to jump the hoops to make official announcements and it all takes time. Thinking it will be a thin Round 1 or an automated official release on New Year's.

I got an Acorn email on both a 2008 AFG and a 2003 FPS....yes 2003.....makes me wonder if there is that much free time at FEMA sending out automated emails twice, maybe they could work on an automated 1199 once
