    Question Seatbelts

Is it in your SOG(GOG) to promptly cut the seatbelts of restrained occupants (upright vehicle) very early in the extrication process?

Depending on the situation there is no need to cut the belts early, What do you gain, except the pt squirming around.

depends on if the pretensioner has fired. If not, needs to be done for patient safety.
Any other position of vehicle - roof/side - you must evaluate and incorporate the cutting of belt with total spinal immobilization.

What about roof removal? Nothing's worse than getting a roof off then having to find someone to cut the belts off to get the roof out of the way. Unless you get the belts cut when the posts are cut.

As long as the seatbelt isn't stabilizing the patient, then there is no reason not to cut it as soon as practical.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.
